Setting of the Song: Raj (Aamir Khan) and Rashmi (Juhi Chawla) are college students. They meet at a vacation resort and fall in love. Later they find out that their families are sworn enemies and would not approve of their relationship. The lovers secretly continue their relationship despite these obstacles. After waiting for an opportunity for a few months, they run away from their homes at night. They use a motorcycle to get out of their town, but after traveling for a while, their motorcycle breaks down. They find an abandoned temple in a desolate location and start living in it as a married couple. They live a simple life without any luxuries, yet they are very happy because they are together. This beautiful song shows the feelings of two young lovers who are deeply in love. The lovers are blissfully unaware that their families are trying to find them and plotting evil schemes to separate them.
About the movie: Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (QSQT) is a romantic tragedy. It is an Indian modern day adaptation of Romeo and Juliet. The movie has been directed very well by Mansoor Khan, who won the prestigious Filmfare Award for best director for this movie. Lead actors Aamir Khan and Juhi Chawla were newcomers but did a remarkably good job. They were both young and well suited for the roles. Both actors became famous because of this movie. The movie won a national award for best film and was also commercially very successful. Several good songs make the movie more enjoyable.

The original music was released in 1977, which was more than a decade before QSQT movie was released. It is not clear that any credit has been given to the original song.
