Setting of the Song: Raj (Aamir Khan) and Rashmi (Juhi Chawla) are college students. They meet at a vacation resort and fall in love. Later they find out that their families are sworn enemies and would not approve of their relationship. The lovers decide to continue their relationship despite these obstacles. After returning to Delhi, where they both live, they are not allowed to meet because their families put strict restrictions on them. The young lovers secretly decide to wait for an opportunity to run away during Rashmi's birthday celebration. This song shows their loneliness and longing to see each other as they wait.
About the movie: Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (QSQT) is a romantic tragedy. It is an Indian modern day adaptation of Romeo and Juliet. The movie has been directed well by Mansoor Khan, who has paid attention to details and made sure that the movie moves at a good pace. Lead actors Aamir Khan and Juhi Chawla were newcomers but did a very good job. They were both young and well suited for the roles. Both actors became famous stars because of this movie. Several good songs make the movie more enjoyable. This is one of the most popular songs from this movie.
